Dates to Remember |
|
Dear Parents,
Happy 2008!!
We are all excited to start back to school again. I hope you all had a fun, relaxing Winter Vacation.
We are still reading AR books from the library and taking comprehension tests on the computer. Your child has been tested again to determine what reading level to choose. Hopefully, the books they pick can be read independently with little help from an adult. But it is still fun for them to read it aloud to someone else too. They may bring one book home each night in their bookbag. Please help them remember to read the book two times at home. Then send it back the next day so that they may sign up to take a test on the computer.
Thank you so much for checking your child’s Take Home Folder each night and helping them to return it the next day. I am pleased to see that the Math Homework we send home each evening is completed at home and returned in the folder the next day.
One of the important dates to remember is January 16th. Your child will be taking a reading assessment called DIBELS. They read 3 different stories to determine how many words they can read correctly in one minute. Any practice you can help out with at home will most definitely help to show improvement in the testing results.
Sincerely, Mrs. Porn |
