Election |
|
Our class elects three class officers. The students who are interested in running write their own speeches and run their campaign. The focus is on electing people who are responsible. I make sure students understand we don’t vote for our best friend. We want to vote for the person who is best for the job. For kids that can be a difficult decision. The officers are elected at the start of each new quarter. Officers run class procedures and are in charge of jobs throughout the day. At the end of the quarter, we repeat the cycle. A student can’t serve in the same office twice. When they run for office, I explain that although they get certain privileges, they will work hard. Each office is a BIG responsibility.
