Philosophy of Learning
Josh K. Long
I think that I have always
wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to share my knowledge with anyone. I think
that we can only grow as a society if we can help one another. That is why I love
teaching so much. There can be nothing more joyous then watching someone
learning from you and have that “light bulb” go on. But there are many ways to
teach, and these are the things that I think a good physical educator should
teach.
·
Physical education
should be a lifetime activity. You should find an activity(s) that you would
like to do for a lifetime. Not all sports are good for everyone, but if you can
find at least one that can keep you physically active for a lifetime, your
health and wellness will make you a happier person
·
Don’t ever be
afraid to try something new. Change is a good thing. It keeps your mind fresh
and the body healthy.
·
Physical education
doesn’t have to be about competition. The learner should enjoy the
activity/sports that they participate in. True competition should take place in
the individual to better themselves by always wanting to get better
·
Be patient. Things
don’t always come easily to everyone. What one person might achieve early in
the learning process, someone else might take a lifetime to accomplish. It’s
not how many times you fall down, it’s how many times that you get back up
·
Try YOUR best. How
do you know if you can be good at something unless you give it all that you
have
·
Mistakes make you
a better learner and a better person. Everyone makes mistakes; it’s what you do
from there that makes the difference.
·
Most of all; Have
fun. Smile. Laugh. Enjoy
