Eighth graders need to KNOW ways to define, identify, and use the basic parts of speech. The sooner students learn these, the more quickly we will move to more interesting aspects of writing and literature.

For further information about the eight parts of speech, essential information for every eighth grader, learn everything listed in the Parts of Speech Table on the internet. Then try Parts of Speech Examples to see if it all makes sense to you. Finally, add to your knowledge of Words with More Than One Job. Once you know the 8 Parts of Speech, test yourself.
