What is Greek Mythology?
What
causes lightning or a rainbow? How did the days of the week
originate? Why does a person fall in love with someone? Why do
people hurt each other?
What if there was no science or psychology? How would you explain these
things?
What is Mythology?
Mythology is a collection of stories a culture made up long ago to explain
confusing things around them. Before there were studies of physical,
emotional, and spiritual parts of our world, made-up stories were the best
people could do.
Why
study Mythology?
We study
mythology because every culture has them, they teach us history, and they are
interesting! Myths are all around us including such things as literature,
advertising, music, media, the arts, and in language.
