MONDAY:
1. Weekly Riddle
2. World Map review
– quiz Tuesday
3. Today, students will use the Paint
program to create a map of the world as a source of review for tomorrow’s quiz
4. On this map,
students will create: continents of the world, oceans of the world, draw the
equator, draw the prime meridian, label where Norfolk would be located
TUESDAY:
1. Map quiz today in class covering the
continents and oceans
2. Complete
Geography Handbook worksheet pages 1-15 for
Tuesday end of class
WEDNESDAY:
1. Go over Geography Handbook worksheet in
class
2. Read Chapter 1, Section 1 in class with
partners (pages 22-27)
3. With partners,
students will complete the Reading Strategy question found on page 22 in the
yellow section of the page
4. Students will continue to work on this
assignment tomorrow in class
THURSDAY:
1. Continue Reading Strategy questions –
due tomorrow
2. Geography,
How much do you care? Video
3. Geography:
Right Here, Right Now
FRIDAY:
1. Review Reading Strategy with powerpoint over Chapter One,
Section 1
2. Begin 5 Themes of
Geography worksheet – due Tuesday/quiz over the themes will be next week

label/quiz over the map will be next week on Tuesday
2. Work on folders to be used/kept
in class
3. Folders are due on Thursday/first grade
of the year
WEDNESDAY:
1. Today the Social Studies book will be
introduced (chapters, sections, terms, maps, etc)
2. After
describing parts of the book, the students will complete the Book Scavenger
Hunt found in the front of the book
3. Continue work on this tomorrow
4. World Map review
