Board of Education met on Thursday, August 26, for the 2nd monthly
meeting at

of Safety, Transportation, Classified Manuals, and Certified Manuals – It was moved by Alfredo
Ramirez, seconded by Brad Krivohlavek, to approve the safety, transportation,
classified manuals, and certified manuals.
Roll call: Aye: Scheer,
Krivohlavek, Ramirez, Pfeil, and Cazabon.
Nay: None. Absent:
McDaniel. Motion carried.
Budget
Discussion -- Dr. Nelson distributed a
handout on the proposed budget for 2004-05 school year. He stated that all the counties have now
verified the valuations which shows a 2.2 percent
increase. The valuation increase is
$29,940,310. The additional taxes
needed by Norfolk Public Schools would have an impact of about $27 additional
taxes on a $100,000 home or $2.25 per month.
The administration is recommending a 2.4 percent increase in the total
budget of the district.

ü All migrant families are
automatically given free school lunches.
It was noted that this would help our district when figuring state aid.
ü The board was asked to fill
out a survey, The Pro, which will help analyze the NPS Foundation Director
position
